Some adverts such as the diet coke and Aero bubbles use "hunky" men in a way of marketing their products at women. What is your opinion of using the sexualisation of men in television advertising and do you think it indicates a changing ideology regarding masculinity in today’s society?
i think it represents equality, products for men have always been advertised by using provocative women so why not the other way round
You trying to get us to write your essay or you?
men have been using women in advertising for decades its degrading but it sells men: welcome to our world
I think it shows that more women then ever are financially independent and the advertisers want them to spend their money on their products. It certainly does grab the attention but will not necessarily make me buy the product.
I want to be an icon my wife calls me a HUNKY husband, so if a advertising film maker wants a Father Christmas's stunt double then I am your man.Popa
I don't think it is anything new. Both men and women have been used as sex objects. Remember Joe Namath in pantyhose?
i think it's degrading to us men, women treat us like sexual objects these day. ps contact me ladies...
A sensitive subject. Changing of masculanity or femine sexism is not the question. The question is, if we can show a female body on TV, why not a male body too... and then will come.... why not together copulating and make porn legal... and then why not go back to the cave age... Let us not have double standards.... what ever standards we have for female body, should hold good for male body too - but he moot question is, will it be good for the society as a whole
I think its a cheap form of unimaginative advertising. Ridiculous really. Like you are going to buy a deodorant because some guy takes off his shirt. No way. Clever, creative ads sell more. Look at the Budweiser commercials and how creative and emotional they are. Every age can relate to them and they make you want to see more. Very effective. I wouldn't buy Diet Coke because some hunk has some. Forget it . I buy it because I like the taste. It about time that Commercial Advertising get some people in there with discriminating taste. The banal stuff doesn't cut it anymore.
My opinion is that there is not nearly enough of it. Give us MORE please.
They are sheer hussies!!
I have been asked many times to participate in men's under wear adverts but have refused as I am very shy.
| Each formed person should love and understand art – the literature, painting, music, cinema. There are people who equally love books, musik , pictures, an opera, films etc. I cannot tell that I concern different displays of art equally ardently. At present priority for me is cinema. The cinema is a surprising art. The cinema is likely the lung for perception and the understanding, the most accessible art. The cinema is a fast art. If to read the book, week film viewing occupies a maximum of hour three is necessary to the average person a minimum. |
