It only does this with some videos on my web browser (I use Safari on an iMac with Intel). Also, the video usually works if I wait for it to fully load and then refresh the page. Sometimes it does not work at all and I can only hear the audio. Is there some kind of setting I can change to make the videos work?
their can be many problems with the video. first of all, the format might be un-playable with quicktime. you can try other video players like, Videora (i think thats what its called).
Use VLC Player. It comes with a codec pack that plays damn near everything flawlessly. It could just be a codec problem with Quicktime, though. Google "codec pack" and download.
Quicktime isn't a format. It's a media player. Unfortunately, some web sites use variations of formats that Quicktime may not understand. There are many different types of mpg files, for example. If this is happening for many different videos, you might try control/right-clicking and saving the file, then playing the saved file.
