why do streaming videos keep buffering and take so long?

I'm trying to find some episodes of a few shows that are from 2002 and although I have found parts of them, I have been unable to find the rest on youtube.com. I know my way around youtube very well and I have looked for these clips for months and months under every different search possible without success. Can anyone tell me if there are any other websites out there like Youtube.com where people post clips of television shows? Thanks!

Veoh I've been able to find things on there. Megavideo (it has the video watching limit though but it has things that most other sites don't)
